Orphanage games supported by Lordina Foundation
On the 31st of August 2018, The Lordina Foundation in August supported the Orphanage International Ministry (OIM) to organize the 8th edition of the All Ghana Orphanage Sports Event, which brings together orphans from various homes across the country for a week-long sporting festival.
Initiated by the Founder of OIM, Pastor Samuel Ludwin Aferi, the sports festival provides an environment for the young orphans to network, develop their sporting talents and also have fun.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the games in Ho in the Volta Region of Ghana, former First Lady and President of the Lordina Foundation, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, lauded the OIM initiative, pledging her Foundation’s support to ensure that it is sustained.
“Sporting activities the world over do not only provide children with the needed physical benefits, but go a long way to providing social, psychological and physiological benefits” to persons who engage in sports”, Mrs. Mahama said in a speech read on her behalf by Rev Stephen Wengam.
Sports, she noted, does not only provide children with the needed physical benefits, but also go a long way to provide social, psychological and physiological benefits to particularly persons in foster homes.
