La General Hospital Receives Siemens Acuson X150 Ultra Sound Scanner from Lordina Foundation

In contributing towards the reduction of maternal deaths, still birth, and infant mortality in the country, the Lordina Foundation in collaboration with the Siemens Company on 17th August, 2016 donated an Ultrasound Scan to the La General Hospital, the second largest hospital in the Greater Accra Region.

The Ceremony was witnessed by a number of prominent personalities including the La Chief, the Minister of Health, the Ag. Director General of the Ghana Health Service, the Chief Executive Officer of Siemens, the Medical Director of the La General Hospital and Representatives of the Lordina Foundation.

With this Siemens Acuson X150 Ultra Sound Scanner, a pregnant woman who visits the health facility will  be scanned at least thrice before the end of her pregnancy term and this will go a long way to contribute to the reduction of maternal death. Also this equipment is capable of diagnosing other health conditions such as cardiovascular accidents (CVA), heart defects, bladder and kidney diseases etc.
